Moshe Fishzon 1912-1987

 

Moshe Fishzon, painter, b.1908 in Warsaw, Poland to a family of artists, where he also studied and started his career, exhibited and worked as stage designer and painter for the Ballet of Felix Parnell.

 

1930 moved to Paris where he was associated with many artists of the Ecole de Paris, especially with Chaim Soutine by whom he was greatly influenced.

 

During the Nazi occupation fled to Russia, got condemned and exiled to Siberia, where he stayed for 15 years in forced labor camps, until released in 1956.

 

Immigrated to Israel 1962

 

Exhibited at the Chemerinsky Gallery and in many other places in Israel.

 

Owned a Studio and opened a gallery in Old Jaffa.
